Tuesday Truth

"And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him."   --  Matthew 6:7-8

I spent a good bit of my morning in prayer for several close friends and their families that are facing critical health issues.  Though each are different situations and we have no idea of the possible outcomes, God is still soveriegn

The word "sovereign" literally means "not controlled by outside forces."  Applied to our Lord, you can easily make the realization that He is in control.  Throughout the day, my mind has drifted back and forth to these friends and their situations.  I have reminded myself that above all God is in control.  He knows the outcomes and -- more importantly -- He knows our needs even before we come.

God wants us to show Him our true colors.  Eloquent words and fancy imagery are just garbage.  God knows our heart and our thoughts -- all He wants is for us to ask.  The pretty words we use are not important, just that we say them.

  1. I love that!
    "not controlled by outside forces"
God is so amazing and when our outside forces seem to overwhelm us we can hold on to His steady unchanging hand : )
    Great truth!
